Why we do what we do
We’re entrepreneurial activists.
We are activists. There, we’ve said it.
Quite often people ask us whether we’re optimistic or pessimistic about the future. The answer is, frankly, both. But we don’t think it really matters how we feel about the challenges we’re facing.
What matters is what we are doing about them.
What we are facing is enormous: climate is changing, resources are running out and people are left behind. We believe that the speed with which these challenges are addressed at the moment, is too slow.
Activism is, and always has been, essential in pushing us, as a society, forward. So we created switchrs because we want to help activist changemakers, anywhere in the world, to be more effective. To move up a gear. To not only make noise, but also to actively create impact. To change, update and innovate the systems rather than to disrupt them.
Ultimately, activism is about empowering. Supporting ourselves and others with the most effective knowledge and tools for doing things. Making stuff tangible – instead of theorizing – is the most direct form of activism. And where a single activist has to carefully select her/his battles, a learning network of entrepreneurial activists has the power to change the world.
That’s why we’re on a mission. A mission to empower at least 2.500.000 entrepreneurial activists by 2025. We do this by a combination of giving keynotes, workshops, doing projects, but above all, by open sourcing all of our tools, methodologies, slide decks and knowledge at DIY.switchrs.com.
You can’t move a mountain, but you can take a pebble every time you visit. If all our intentions of improving the world would add-up to a huge wave of positive impact in all kinds of institutions and systems, just imagine what we could do, and what we could become.
At switchrs, we are entrepreneurial activists. And we would like you to become one as well.
